About Paradise Meadows Poultry Farm

A small, family-run poultry farm located in Black Creek, BC.

It’s owned and operated by Gord and Tracey, who have been raising chickens for most of their lives.

Gord grew up on his parents’ chicken farm and purchased the land in Black Creek in 1980. Together with Tracey, he’s been raising birds here ever since — doing things the way they believe they should be done: carefully, cleanly, and without cutting corners.

They’ve never wanted to get big. The goal has always been to raise healthy chickens, provide good food for the community, and support local agriculture in a way that actually works.

A Lifetime of Experience

Gord and Tracey have been in the chicken business since 1976. That experience matters.

Over the decades, they’ve learned what works — and what doesn’t — when it comes to bird health, housing, feed, and handling. Their methods aren’t based on trends or buzzwords, but on years of hands-on farming and paying close attention to the animals.

That experience is why Paradise Meadows Poultry does things a little differently — and why customers keep coming back.

Why Free-Run, Not Free-Range

One of the most common questions we get is about free-run versus free-range chickens.

Our birds are free-run, meaning they can move freely inside spacious, government-inspected barns that are carefully managed for cleanliness and health. Over the years, we found that outdoor free-range systems led to more problems — parasites, illness, and stress on the birds.

By keeping our chickens in a controlled environment, we’re able to:

  • Protect them from lice, mites, worms, and disease

  • Maintain clean, dry conditions year-round

  • Raise calmer, healthier birds

We feed non-GMO, non-medicated feed, and we raise chickens that are content, well cared for, and healthy — which makes a real difference in the quality of the meat.

Raised and Processed on the Farm

Everything at Paradise Meadows Poultry happens right here in Black Creek.

We raise our birds on site and process them in our fully licensed, government-inspected poultry abattoir. This allows us to maintain strict standards from start to finish and ensures minimal handling and maximum freshness.

We also provide poultry processing services for other local farmers. Local meat production depends on local infrastructure, and having a licensed abattoir in the community helps keep small farms viable.

A Farm Built Around Community

More than just a place to buy chickens

Families are welcome here. Kids often stop to feed the donkeys. Customers ask questions, share recipes, and talk about where their food comes from. Many people have been coming here for years — some for generations.

Local agriculture is a “dying breed,” but it’s vital to rural communities and local economies. The fresher the food, the better it is for you — and it doesn’t get much fresher than birds raised and processed on the same farm.
